What is a Racquetball Ladder?
If you have never played in a racquetball ladder before it’s a fun way for new players to get started in the sport. It’s also a great way for experienced players to see where you stack up against the other players in the club.
Here’s how it works. All interested players must register to participate in the ladder. Just send an email to ladderadmin@racquetball-league.com listing your name and email address. You will be added typically within 24 hours of your request. You will be added to the "Additional players eligible to participate" list. If you have previously participated in the league at the club, then you are automatically registered.
Here are the basics… No matter where you start on the ladder, after a period of time you will end up playing games with people of similar ability. As you improve, you are going to move up the ladder. When you are ready to make a challenge select yourself, your opponent and click on the "Submit Challenge" button and follow the instructions.
- If you are already on the ladder.
- You may only challenge someone who is ranked above you.
- You may only challenge someone who is a maximum of 5 rungs above you.
- You may not challenge someone who is in the Additional players eligible to participate group.
- If you are in the "Additional players eligible to participate" group.
- You may challenge anyone on the ladder.
- You may challenge anyone in the "Additional players eligible to participate" group.
- If you challenge someone in the "Additional players eligible to participate" group, the loser will be placed at the bottom of the ladder and the winner will be placed one rung above the bottom of the ladder.
- If you make a successful challenge you take the position of your opponent, and their name and everyone below them drops down one rung.
- The win/loss columns are irrelevant to your ranking, they are included for reference only. The last match you played is what determines your position on the ladder.
- All matches should be played within 10 days of a challenge being made (unless there are extenuating circumstances) otherwise the challenger wins. The challenger should send an email to ladderadmin@racquetball-league.com to request an extension.
- If the person being challenged (the challengee) offers 3 different ‘compulsory match times’ (on different days) and the challenger cannot make any of them, then the CHALLENGE is VOID. The challengee should send email to the ladder admin to VIOD a challenge.
- If the person being challenged cannot offer 3 different ‘compulsory match times’ (on different days) then the CHALLENGER WINS by default if the match is not played.
- If the challenger wishes to cancel the challenge they may do so within the challenge and grace period with no consequences.
